Mt. Doyle is a product of his environment--the outstanding music scene of Vancouver Island. Since he was a kid, he was constantly recording mixtapes off the radio and burning CDs for others. Sharing music was one of his greatest joys. As a teenager, he was introduced to Electronic Music which led him to discover his passion for Drum and Bass. In 2009 Mt. Doyle started turning heads at Victoria’s historic Hush Nightclub with his sexy liquid d’n’b sets. Soon after, Doyle expanded his horizons to include Funk, House, Hip-Hop and Bass, all with his unique soulful West Coast flavor. He quickly became a staple in the Victoria scene after playing lounges, clubs and festivals all over B.C. Others quickly took notice including The Funk Hunters who asked him to warm up the dance floor for their sold out Funk The Halls shows at The Commodore Ballroom in 2015. Additionally Mt. Doyle has held a residency at Tall Tree Music Festival’s picturesque Valley Stage, 6 years in a row and currently holds a weekly residency at the Rooftop Surf Club in Victoria’s iconic Strathcona Hotel.
In 2016 Mt. Doyle join the ranks of Illvis Freshly, a Victoria based Hip-Hop band with live rock elements and a heavy dose of Funk. In the same year, Illvis Freshly won the Vancouver Island Music Awards for Hip-Hop recording of the year for their track “On the Breaks” and group of the year.
Over the years Doyle has shared the stage with international heavyweights Aphrodite, Funkanomics, Serial Killaz, Slynk, Dub Pistols, Netsky, Camo & Krooked and Andy C, not to mention many of the West Coast’s finest. With a mountainous lust for music and versatile style, Mt. Doyle will keep bodies moving any time any place with whatever the hell he wants.
